Unit B – Number Digits

This maths scheme of work for Key Stage One gets the children to identify, record and compare the sets of tens and ones that can indicate the numerical values of different two digit numbers. The class can record number sums that can be used when adding the tens and ones to make different two digit numbers.

Lesson One : Tens and Ones
Identify and record the place value of the each of the numerical digits that can be found in a range of different two digit numbers to show the matching tens and ones

Lesson Two : Money Sums
Identify and record the sets of ten pence and penny coins that make different money amounts with matching sums to one pound

Lesson Three : Number Splits
Identify and record how to partition a selection of different two digit numbers into their matching sets of tens and ones

Lesson Four : Number Sums
Select and record the tens and ones that can be used to complete a range of different addition number sentences with sums to one hundred

Lesson Five : Number Squares
Explain and model how to compare and sort sets of different two digit numbers by the place value of their digits to indicate the sets of tens and ones
