This maths scheme of work for Key Stage One gets the children to learn the names of different 2D shapes using the correct vocabulary to identify and describe their matching individual properties. The class can make models and play games to identify and match a selection of different shapes.

Shape Names

Identify, describe and match the names and illustrations of different 2D shapes by their individual properties including their number of sides and corners

Shape Tags
Identify, describe and label models of a range of different 2D shapes and describe their matching properties including their numbers of sides and corners

Identify, recall and match the names of different 2D shapes by their individual properties including their number of sides and corners
