Family Fireworks

This English scheme of work for Key Stage One gets the children to select special vocabulary for sights and sounds to use when composing poems describing different fireworks used by families on Bonfire Night. The class can combine vocabulary words to build lines for a poem describing different fireworks.

Lesson Three : Firework Party
Investigate how to select and record some of the special events that might happen during a family Bonfire party in an example sequenced recount

Lesson Four : Bonfire Night
Explore how to select and use special vocabulary words to describe some of the sights and sounds that might be experienced on the fifth of November

Lesson Five : Firework Show
Practise reviewing and performing poems about Bonfire Night events by adding musical sound effects and illustrations
