Lesson Four – Seaside Interviews

This history teaching pack for Key Stage One gets the children to explore how to collate and record information about life in the past by conducting interviews using key questions about family holidays to the seaside.

Activities in this teaching pack include display posters to identify and describe how families holidayed at the seaside in the past, a set of cards to identify questions that can be asked to find out about seaside holidays in the past and a template to select and record questions to find out and record what happened in the past on a family holiday.
The interactive presentation can be used to explore how to collate and record information about life in the past by conducting interviews about seaside holidays.
This lesson is part of a history scheme of work to get the children to describe and compare how families enjoyed seaside holidays together in the past with similar events and experiences enjoyed by families today. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
