Activities in this teaching pack include a set of display posters to identify the position of the United Kingdom in the world and the location of the countries of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, shared reading texts to identify and explain some of the distinguishing features of the four countries that comprise the UK and a template to support composition of a diary entry describing a visit to a location in the United Kingdom.
The interactive presentation gets the children to practise using maps to identify the name and location of the four counties that are part of the UK and describe what makes each place special.
