Family Holidays

This English scheme of work for Key Stage One gets the children to practise writing personal recounts describing events and experiences that could happen on a family holiday to different locations around the world. The class can select sentences and vocabulary to structure diaries and recounts of different events.

Seaside Holiday
Read and write a personal recount describing some of the different things that could happen during a family visit to a seaside as part of a summer holiday

Royal Parade
Identify and model how to complete postcards to recount some of the things that could happen during a visit to London to watch a parade for a special royal occasion

Holiday Diary
Practise writing a personal recount to describe some of the special events and experiences that could happen during a family holiday to the French Alps

Practise writing poems with patterned language and rhythm structures to describe movements and actions connected to different sports and games
