This computing scheme of work for Key Stage One gets the children to explore how to use databases to store, organise and interrogate data and information about what is happening in the weather. The class can suggest how and why someone might use a computer to store and organise information about a topic.

Practise sorting some dates that occur during the year into matching groups working with different criteria about what is happening in the weather
Lesson Four : Data Questions
Explore how to search and record different dates that have been stored in an example database to match selected weather criteria
Lesson Five : Weather Questions
Investigate and record how to compare different ways of storing and retrieving information about the weather that has been listed using both written texts and computer files
Lesson Six : Weather Quiz
Practise searching for and retrieving information from a prepared database about how the weather changes throughout each month of the year
