Lesson Two – Colour Swatches

Activities in this teaching pack include display poster to identify and describe some of the colour shades used in artwork of Children at the Beach by Renoir and differentiated templates to record some of the special colour shades that have been used in a section from a work of art by Renoir.

The interactive presentation can be used to explore and record the range of colour shades that have been used in a painting by a famous artist.

This lesson is part of an art and design scheme of work to get the children to explore the artwork style and painting techniques of a famous European artist to replicate when creating a picture of a school scene.
