Lesson Three – Colour Mixing

Activities in this teaching pack include display poster to identify and describe some of the different colour shades used in the painting of a Garden Scene in Brittany by Renoir and differentiated templates to record some of the special shades that can be produced when mixing different pairs of colours.
The interactive presentation can be used to explore how to mix and record a range of colour shades to match parts of a painting by a famous artist.
This lesson is part of an art and design scheme of work to get the children to explore the artwork style and painting techniques of a famous European artist to replicate when creating a picture of a school scene. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
