Activities in this teaching pack include a worksheet to select different 2D shapes which can be used to produce buttons for the control panel of a space rocket and a template to choose and record a range of different shapes by shading their patterns using sets of dots.
The interactive presentation gets the children to explore how to compare and explain how rectangles are the same or different as other shapes by their individual properties.
This lesson is part of a numeracy scheme of work to get the children to identify, describe and compare different 2D shapes by their individual shape properties including numbers of sides and corners.
