Money Shopping

This numeracy scheme of work for the Foundation Stage gets the children to investigate and model some of the number skills that need to be used when working with money on a shopping trip. The class can role-play buying different items from a shop when working with money sums and giving the correct change.

Price Tags
Explore how to complete and sequence sets of shopping price tags using a range of different money amounts to five, ten and twenty pence

Toy Prices
Practise identifying, counting and recording the number of one pence and two pence coins that are needed to buy different products in a toy shop

Practise using vocabulary words and non-standard measurements to find and compare the length of different things that can found in a garden

Family Holiday
Identify and recount events and experiences to describe what happened when on holiday at the seaside using sentences in the past tense
