Rectangle Shapes

This numeracy topic teaching pack for the Foundation Stage gets the children to investigate how to build, match and record the shape of some different rectangles that have been modelled using a range of sizes and fraction parts.
The class can make a list of some example rectangle shapes that might be seen or used in different locations around the school at at home.
Download this teaching pack including classroom activities and an interactive presentation to investigate how to build, match and record the shape of some different rectangles that have been modelled using a range of sizes and fraction parts
Activities in this teaching pack include sets of cards to build and match some example rectangle shapes using parts divided for different fractions and sizes and a template to make a list of rectangle shapes that could be seen and used in different locations.
The interactive presentation gets the children to explore how to build and record the shape of rectangles using different sizes and fraction parts.
This lesson is part of a numeracy scheme of work to get the children to name, model and classify some example four sided shapes with matching numbers of corners and sides that can be seen and used in different locations. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
