Fantasy Stories

This literacy scheme of work for the Foundation Stage gets the children to identify and describe some of the special characters, locations and events that can occur in narrative stories with fantasy settings. The class can compare how fantasy stories are structured differently to some other narrative genres.

Explore how to role-play and suggest matching dialogue that might be spoken by different characters in a fantasy story about meeting a dragon inside a forest location

Investigate how to identify and describe some of the different story characters that might live in a range of special locations as part of a fictional story with a fantasy setting

Explain and model how to find and record the halves of some of the different objects that can be used at home and in school
