Lesson Four – Tongue Twisters

Activities in this teaching pack include a shared reading text to identify initial sounds in different words used as part of a tongue twister poem and a set of cards to select and group some different sets of matching cvc words with the same initial sounds.
The interactive presentation gets the children to explore how to compose and perform different tongue twisters about family holidays using initial sounds in words.
This lesson is part of a literacy scheme of work to get the children to identify and recount events and experiences to describe what happened when on holiday at the seaside using sentences in the past tense. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
