Lesson Five – Harvest Prayer

Activities in this teaching pack include display posters to identify and describe some of the different crops grown and harvested on a farm, a shared reading text to suggest how to thank God for the crops grown on a farm during the harvest and a template to compose a sentence as part of a prayer to celebrate crops grown on a farm during the harvest.

The interactive presentation gets the children to explore how to compose a Christian prayer to celebrate the harvest at a special festival in the school during the autumn season.

This lesson is part of a curriculum topic scheme of work to get the children to investigate how farmers collect the harvest in the autumn including grown crops and food sources from animals and explore how the harvest can be celebrated. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
