Supporting Others

This assembly scheme of work for the Foundation Stage gets the children to explore how to build strong and positive relationships with other pupils at school and family members at home through different situations and scenarios. The class can use Bible stories to explain how Jesus taught people how to support others.

Identify and reflect on different ways to help and support friends and build strong relationships

Friendship
Investigate how to suggest and describe some of the special ways of caring for and supporting friends whilst completing different lessons and topics at school

Enormous Turnip
Practise using a traditional story to identify and describe ways of supporting other friends and family when at home and in school

Working Together
explore how to reflect on and Illustrate the common theme of working together and supporting others by reading and role-playing a traditional story

Loving Others
Investigate and reflect on some of the special ways of showing how to love and care for friends and family at school and home when completing different actions and events

Good Neighbours
Explore how to identify and explain some of the special ways of being a good neighbour by supporting and caring for family and friends in different ways

Garden Measurements
Practise using vocabulary words and non-standard measurements to find and compare the length of different things that can found in a garden

Family Holiday
Identify and recount events and experiences to describe what happened when on holiday at the seaside using sentences in the past tense

Investigate and model some of the number skills that need to be used when working with money on a shopping trip
