Activities in this teaching pack include display posters to identify and describe the properties of different plastic materials, a set of cards to select and label objects made from plastics by their matching properties and a vocabulary word bank to help name and sort a range of different materials by their matching properties.
The interactive presentation gets the children to explore how to match and group different types of plastic materials using their properties.
This lesson is part of a science scheme of work to get the children to investigate and test the properties of different types of materials including durability, opacity, strength and conductivity. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
