Unit F – Addition Tens and Ones

This maths scheme of work for Key Stage One gets the children to model and illustrate how to add pairs of two digit numbers with multiples of tens and ones and other two digit numbers using concrete equipment, diagrams and informal written calculations. The class can show how to partition numbers to support calculations.

Lesson One : Addition Number Sums
Identify and record different pairs of numbers that sum to multiples of ten up to one hundred

Lesson Two : Number Shapes
Select and use shapes to record pairs of multiples of ten that sum to one hundred

Lesson Three : Tens Number Changes
Identify and record changes to place value when adding different two digit numbers and tens

Lesson Four : Tens and Ones Splits
Practise adding pairs of two and one digit numbers by partitioning them into tens and ones

Lesson Five : Bakery Shopping
Add pairs of two digit numbers not crossing ten to calculate items bought in a bakery
