Lesson Five – Money Rounding
This maths teaching pack for Key Stage Two gets the children to identify and practise some of the rules that can be used to round different money amounts that have been recorded in pounds and pence to the nearest whole pound totals.
The class can explain how to link the digits used in each of the money amounts to the correct number of pounds, ten pence coins and pennies so that they can be compared.

Activities in this teaching pack include differentiated sets of cards to select money amounts in pounds and pence to practise rounding the the nearest whole pounds using totals to ten pounds for core and extension ability levels and to multiples of ten pence for support ability levels and a template to record how the selected money amounts have been rounded.
The interactive presentation gets the children to explore and record how to round different money amounts in pounds and pence to the nearest whole pound totals.
