Dance Journeys
This physical education scheme of work for Key Stage One gets the children to select, refine and perform sequences of dance steps to reflect movements that might be made by vehicles on different journeys. The class can identify how to perform repeated dance steps in time to a piece of music.

Lesson One : Shake, Rattle and Roll
Explore and perform some different ways of moving to a regular beat in time to a piece of music representing a specific type of journey
Lesson Two : Locomotion
Develop and perform some sequences of dance movements to represent what might happen when travelling somewhere by train
Lesson Three : Vehicle Movements
Practise making movements at different levels to represent travelling somewhere special using a range of special types of vehicles
Lesson Four : Sea Waves
Develop and perform sequences of dance steps using some fast and slow movements illustrating waves that can be seen on the sea
Lesson Five : Travelling Steps
Investigate how to select and combine dance steps to create sequences of movements representing journeys that could be made using a range of special vehicles
Lesson Six : What Journey
Explore how to rehearse and perform a dance to represent vehicle movements that uses a sequence of repeated steps to show what could happen on a journey
