Unit D – Wind Turbine

This English scheme of work for Key Stage Two gets the children to plan and write a magazine article about an environmental issue, learn rules to spell words with cial and tial endings and use commas to separate phrases and clauses in a sentence. Lesson Two : Sentence Commas
Practise using commas to separate phrases and clauses in some example sentences about different forms of energy production that are used in the world

Lesson Three : Turbine Viewpoints
Select and record arguments that are for and against the erection of a wind turbine in the school grounds that might be argued by some different affected groups

Investigate how to plan the content and structure of a magazine article outlining arguments for and against the installation of a wind turbine in the school grounds

Draft and edit a discursive writing text outlining some of the arguments that are for or against the installation of a wind turbine in the school grounds
