Family Visits

This literacy scheme of work for the Foundation Stage gets the children to practise selecting different vocabulary words to use when completing and composing poems about family visits to different locations. The class can make lists of words to match what can happen on different visits.

Park Visit
Select and use special vocabulary words to describe events and experiences that can be completed during a visit to a park as part of a poem

Zoo Visit
Select and use special vocabulary words to describe events and experiences that can be completed during a visit to a zoo as part of a poem

Produce items of clothing to wear on a holiday to a particular location by selecting and using shapes to represent different places

Explain and model how to control the direction and position of a robot when moving about the classroom to perform different functions

Jack and the Beanstalk
Explore, role-play and change the sequence of narrative events that occur in a traditional story and select and match cvc words with the same final phoneme sounds

Select, identify and prepare different types of foods for a picnic including sandwiches and fruit juice drinks by compiling shopping lists for a class outing
