This English scheme of work for Key Stage Two gets the children to practise using the correct text features when composing explanations about how and why different organs in the human body function. The class can explain how to use paragraphs when composing their explanations on different topics.

Plan and write an explanation to describe the function of an organ in the human body to show how and why it functions and supports different systems and processes

Food Digestion
Identify and model how to write an explanation to describe how and why food is digested in the human body for a range of different functions

Practise composing narrative stories to illustrate the structure and format of myths based on culture and traditions from Ancient Greece

Identify, describe and compare the effect of some different types of weather on a range of locations that can be found around the world

Investigate and compare numbers in millions by identifying the numerical place values of their matching sets of digits

Explain and record how to illustrate the place value of the sets of matching digits in numbers to two decimal places
