Lesson Five – Survivors

This history teaching pack for Key Stage One gets the children to suggest and record how the survivors from the shipwreck of the Forfarshire might have responded to their rescue by the Darling family in the past.

The class can select and ask a range of different key questions to model how to understand and explain what happened during the sea rescue that was performed by the Darling family.

This lesson is part of a history scheme of work to get the children to investigate and record how life was different in the past from today by exploring the story of Grace Darling and the rescue of the Forfarshire.
