Activities in this teaching pack include a shared reading text to identify and describe how to convert a story from the Bible into a play script and a set of worksheets to select a verse from a Gospel in the New Testament to use when formatting and structuring a scene from the nativity story.
The interactive presentation gets the children to explore how to write and perform a play script to dramatise a scene illustrating what happened in one part of the nativity story.
This lesson is part of a RE and English scheme of work to get the children to explore and record some of the main events occurred surrounding the birth of Jesus by composing a range of different texts to sequence and illustrate what happened. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
