This maths teaching pack for Key Stage Two gets the children to practise using an abacus to display the hundreds, tens and ones that comprise different numbers to one thousand to illustrate the values of the digits in each number.
The class can explain and model how to record the identified numbers displayed on each abacus using words and digits to show the hundreds, tens and ones for each of the number values.
Download this teaching pack including a lesson plan, classroom activities and an interactive presentation to practise using an abacus to display the hundreds, tens and ones that comprise different numbers to one thousand to illustrate the values of the digits in each number
Activities in this teaching pack include differentiated templates to select and build different numbers to one hundred for support ability levels, to one thousand for core ability levels and to three thousand for extension ability levels using their matching hundreds, tens and ones digit values.
The interactive presentation gets the children to explore how to use an abacus to display the hundreds, tens and ones that comprise different three digit numbers.
