Division Measurements

This maths scheme of work for Key Stage Two gets the children to practise solving problems using division number skills to divide measurements for length, capacity and mass using a range of matching units. The class can explain how to use times tables facts and repeated subtraction when dividing numbers.

Length Division

Identify and calculate measurements that are four, six and eight times shorter than different lengths in centimetres and millimetres

Sharing Drinks

Identify and model how to divide different capacities in millilitres by two, three, five and ten to solve a range of measurement word problems about drinks

Shelf Stacking

Calculate and record the numbers of household objects that can be stored on shelves in a family home with different lengths in centimetres

  • Length Measurements

    Length Measurements

Practise estimating, measuring and converting the lengths of different objects working with measurements in millimetres, centimetres and metres

  • Levers, Pulleys and Gears

    Levers, Pulleys and Gears

Research, test and illustrate how to use different types of levers, pulleys and gears to change the direction and strength of a range of forces

  • Fraction Comparisons

    Fraction Comparisons

Practise using pictorial diagrams to record the values of different unit and non-unit fractions so that they can be ordered and compared

  • Amazing Animals

    Amazing Animals

Select and use special vocabulary words to use when composing poems with different forms to describe a range of animals
