Grams and Kilograms Measurements

This maths scheme of work for Key Stage Two gets the children to practise measuring, recording and calculating measurements in mass when working with and converting units in grams and kilograms. The class can explain how to use scale divisions correctly to show some measured masses.

Mass Differences
Calculate and record the difference between pairs of different measurements by converting their masses from kilograms to grams when completing each subtraction sum

Grams and Kilograms Match
Select, identify and match a range of different masses that have been recorded in grams and kilograms working with whole numbers, fractions and decimal measurements

Scale Measurements
Identify and record whether to measure the mass of different objects using scales recorded in grams or kilograms so that their masses can be measured accurately
-
Times Tables Sums
Identify and recall facts in different times table to use when completing multiplication calculations indicating matching questions and products
-
Earth in Space
Describe the movement of the Earth, and other planets, relative to the Sun in the Solar System by using practical models and researching information
-
Times Tables Games
Learn and recall facts in the multiplication times tables to utilise when playing some games to match calculation facts and products
-
Football Report
Research and write a non-chronological report presenting facts and information about one of the countries participating in a football tournament
