The class can compile a presentation to give to the class to describe the advantages and disadvantages of a proposed change in the school’s neighbourhood.

Activities in this teaching pack include shared reading texts to identify some of the arguments that are for or against an improvement in the local area and a template to structure and format a presentation about an improvement that can be made to the school’s neighbourhood.
The interactive presentation gets the children to explore how to identify and review the impact of different changes that could be made to the local environment.
This lesson is part of a geography scheme of work to get the children to identify, describe and compare some of the different political and physical features that can be found in the local area around the school neighbourhood. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
