Amazing Animals

This English scheme of work for Key Stage Two gets the children to select and use special vocabulary words to use when composing poems with different forms to describe a range of animals. The class can practise creating Kenning and shape poems to illustrate what makes a particular animal and unique.

Select and build vocabulary word phrases containing nouns and adjectives that can be used in a Kenning poem to describe a specific type of animal in the world

Sea Fish Shape Poem
Select and shape a range of special vocabulary words to use in a poem describing some of the different types of fish that live in the sea

Research and present some of the benefits and disadvantages that can be produced when recycling different materials at home and in school
