Lesson Six – Sail Presentation

This computing teaching pack for Key Stage Two gets the children to produce and perform a class presentation to explain reasons for graphic design choices when creating a shape representing a Viking longship sail.

The class can suggest how and why they selected and adjusted shapes in their completed Viking longship sail designs to better represent life in the past.

Activities in this teaching pack include a shared reading text to explain how to make a presentation about a designed graphic image to match a specific topic and a template to structure and format a presentation about the design for a Viking Longship sail.

The interactive presentation can be used to explore how to produce and perform a class presentation to explain reasons for graphic design choices of a Viking longship sail.

This lesson is part of a computing scheme of work to get the children to select, combine and adjust different graphic shapes to create the design that could be used on a replica Viking longship sail. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
