Garden Art
This art and design teaching pack for Key Stage Two gets the children to practise shaping and combining some of the different natural materials that can be found in a garden to create different pieces of artwork on the theme of the summer.
The class can explain and model some of the special skills that can be used when selecting and moulding the selected materials to match the topic of each work of art.

Activities in this teaching pack include a set of worksheets to investigate how to work with a range of different natural materials found in a garden to create different pieces of art including the use of pebbles to produce mosaic shapes, pieces of wood to create sculptures, printing with paint to make leaf shapes and working with paper materials to develop garden insects.
This lesson is part of an art and design scheme of work to get the children to develop and refine art and design skills when modelling, sketching, sculpting and painting to produce art work on the theme of the summer. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
