Reflections

This art and design teaching pack for Key Stage Two gets the children to explore and emulate techniques used by artists working in paint to create impressions of reflections seen in bodies of water. The class can practise using water washes to develop the shape and colour of a reflection seen in a river or lake.

Practise selecting views and recording images when sketching a scene of a river location as preparation for completing a full painting

Investigate how to create a painting of a river view using different artwork techniques to illustrate some of the special reflections that might be visible in the water

Lesson Six : Painting Changes
Explore and evaluate completed class paintings of river scenes that include water reflections of some of the things that can be seen on the riverbanks
