Snowflake Prints
This art and design teaching pack for Key Stage Two gets the children to practise different ways of printing repeating patterns of snowflake shapes and designs that can be used for paper to wrap Christmas presents.
The class can identify and describe the properties of some of the different 2D shapes that can be used to make the design of a printed snowflake on the theme of Christmas.

Activities in this teaching pack include display posters to identify and describe shapes and patterns seen in different snowflakes, a shared reading text to follow a set of instructions about how to print a snowflake shape and templates to print a design of a snowflake using 3D shapes to use for some Christmas wrapping paper.
The interactive presentation gets the children to explore different ways of printing repeating patterns of snowflake shapes and designs.
This lesson is part of an art and design scheme of work to get the children to investigate and model how to use different materials and art techniques to design and make decorations to celebrate Christmas.
