Lesson Six – Toys Performance

This physical education teaching pack for Key Stage One gets the children to develop and perform a range of dance actions and steps to represent different movements and actions for special types of toys.
The class can choose, record and then perform their selected dance steps in a sequence to show how the selected toys might move such as spinning and jumping actions.

Activities in this teaching pack include display posters to identify and explain how to make movements to represent specific toys, a set of cards to select and rehearse different actions to repeat in sequence as part of a dance and a template to record repeated sequence of movements in a dance to represent toy movements.
The interactive presentation gets the children to explore how to perform a range of dance actions and steps to represent different movements for toys.
This lesson is part of a PE scheme of work to get the children to select, develop and perform a range of dance steps to represent and illustrate some of the movements of different toys and games. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
