This history scheme of work for Key Stage One gets the children to investigate and record how a selection of different toys and games that were owned by families have changed and developed over time. The class can produce labels for a museum exhibition describing toys and games played with in the past.

Lesson Three : Toy Interviews

Practise preparing and conducting interviews with classroom visitors to find out about some of the toys and games that they owned and played with in the past

Lesson Four : Old Toys

Practise using primary sources to investigate and present information about some of the different toys and games that were owned by families in the past

Lesson Five : From Old to New

Explore how to describe and compare examples of different toys and games from the past and identify some modern day equivalents

Lesson Six : Toy Museum

Select and record facts and information to add to a label for a toy or game from the past to use in a museum display about family life in the past
