Seas and Oceans

This geography scheme of work for Key Stage One gets the children to identify, describe and locate all of the main seas and oceans of the world using maps and compare vehicles used for marine transportation. The class can locate and name the seas and oceans that can be found around the continents of the world.

Lesson One : British Isles
Identify, name and locate each of the different seas that surround the British Isles and its four constituent countries of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland

Lesson Two : World Oceans
Practise using a selection of maps to identify and record the location of the five main oceans that can be found around the world close to each of the different continents

Lesson Three : Ships and Boats
Identify and describe some of the different types of vessels that voyage across the seas and oceans that can be found around the world
