Lesson Two – Seashore Visit

This geography teaching pack for Key Stage One gets the children to practise identifying and comparing the matching physical and political features of a seashore location with some other places that can be found in the world.
The class can design and produce posters to persuade families to visit the seashore for a special holiday when using some advertising slogans and catchphrases.

Activities in this teaching pack include display posters to identify and describe a family visit to the seaside, a set of cards to record information about events and experiences that can happen in a seashore location and a template to design and produce posters to persuade families to visit the seashore for a special holiday.
The interactive presentation can be used to explore and compare the physical and political features of a seashore location with other places in the world.
This lesson is part of a geography scheme of work to get the children to identify, describe and compare the physical and political geography of different locations that families could visit on holiday around the world. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
