Activities in this teaching pack include display posters to identify how to co-ordinate pairs of sentence clauses using the conjunction and, a set of cards to record how to match pairs of sentences clauses about potions used by a witch to cast different spells using the conjunction and a template to produce a label for a type of witch’s potion.

The interactive presentation gets the children to explore how a witch might use a range of potions to cast different spells using conjunctions to link sentence clauses.

This lesson is part of an English scheme of work to get the children to select and write sets of instructions that a witch can follow when making a range of potions to use when casting different spells. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
