Lesson One – Easter Flowers

Activities in this teaching pack include a shared reading text to identify and define vocabulary words used in poems about different flowers, a worksheet to select and record synonyms for vocabulary words that can be used to describe colours and shapes and a set of cards for support ability levels to match pairs of words for a range of different colours and shapes.

The interactive presentation gets the children to explore some of the matching synonyms that can be used to describe colours and shapes seen in flowers in a garden.

This lesson is part of an English scheme of work to get the children to select and use descriptive vocabulary words to compose a poem describing different things that can be seen in a family garden at Easter.
