Lesson Four – Garden Words

This English teaching pack for Key Stage Two gets the children to select and match sets of descriptive vocabulary words that can be used to describe some of the different aspects that can be seen in an Easter garden.

The class can practise using thesauruses and dictionaries to compile their word lists to reflect themes and ideas about Easter to utilise when composing poetry.

Activities in this teaching pack include a display poster to describe some of the flowers that can be seen growing in a spring garden and a set of cards to match and groups sets of synonyms for different vocabulary words that can be used to describe aspects of an Easter garden.

The interactive presentation gets the children to explore how to match sets of descriptive vocabulary words that can be used to describe different aspects of an Easter garden.

This lesson is part of an English scheme of work to get the children to select and use descriptive vocabulary words to compose a poem describing different things that can be seen in a family garden at Easter.
