Lesson Three – Bicycle Wheels

This computing teaching pack for Key Stage One gets the children to practise sorting and labelling some of the different parts that can be found on bicycle into matching groups by their specific functions.
The class can explain and model how to use the selected labels to annotate a graphic illustration of a bicycle to indicate the location of each of the different labelled parts.
Download this teaching pack including a lesson plan, classroom activities and an interactive presentation to practise sorting and labelling some of the different parts that can be found on bicycle into matching groups by their specific functions
Activities in this teaching pack include display posters to identify and describe some of the different parts that can be found on a bicycle and a set of cards to select and record graphic images to match different vocabulary labels about the types of wheels that could be used on a bicycle.
The interactive presentation can be used to explore how to sort and label parts of a bicycle into groups by their matching functions.
This lesson is part of a computing scheme of work to get the children to develop and refine word processing skills when labelling and organising different parts and equipment that can be used when riding a bicycle. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
