Lesson One – Face Parts

This curriculum topic teaching pack for the Foundation Stage gets the children to practise naming and locating each of the the different parts that can be found on a human face and describe their matching functions.
The class can select and use some different materials to produce models showing the face of a clown character with the correct names for each part of a face.

Activities in this teaching pack include display posters to identify and describe the location and function of different parts of a face, and a set of cards to label a picture of a face showing the location of the different parts and a template to cut and shape materials to produce a picture of a clown showing the main parts of the face,
The interactive presentation gets the children to explore how to name and locate the different parts found on a human face and describe their matching functions.
This lesson is part of a curriculum topic scheme of work to get the children to investigate and practise some of the different artwork techniques that can be used when composing and painting a portrait of a classmate. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
