This literacy scheme of work for the Foundation Stage gets the children to explore and record the narrative sequence of events in stories with familiar settings about some of the special things that can happen in a family. The class can use storyboards to illustrate what can happen in each narrative story.

Clothes Shopping

Investigate how to record and sequence example sentences to describe something that happened during a family meal as part of a narrative story

Seaside Visit
Practise selecting and recounting events and writing narrative captions to describe some of the special things that might happen on a family holiday to the seaside

Identify the location and function of different objects used in the classroom and explore how to formulate rules to manage the classroom safely

Identify, describe and compare the sequences of geometric shapes that have been used to create a range of different patterns
