Activities in this teaching pack include a set of cards to role-play different story events about welcoming visitors to the classroom and a template to select and record a sequence of narrative events and experiences based on reading and discussion about what can happen in a school.
The interactive presentation gets the children to explore how to record and illustrate information about some of the events and experiences about the school day.
This lesson is part of a literacy scheme of work to get the children to practise using storyboards to sequence some of the special events that might happen in a school by recording personal recounts. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
