Lesson Five – Spring Lambs

This curriculum topic teaching pack for the Foundation Stage gets the children to identify, describe and record some of the different ways of looking after lambs that are born on a farm during the spring season of the year.
The class can practise producing collages to illustrate some of the new born lambs that might be born to adult sheep on a farm to show their unique characteristics.

Activities in this teaching pack include display posters to identify and describe how to care for baby lambs that are born on a farm, a worksheet to record some of the special ways of caring for baby lambs and a template to produce a collage picture of a farm animal using a range of different materials.
The interactive presentation gets the children to explore and record some of the different ways of looking after lambs that are born on a farm in the spring.
This lesson is part of a curriculum topic scheme of work to get the children to identify and describe some of the changes to farm animals that occur during the spring and jobs performed by the farmer during this season of the year. There are teaching activities for shared learning, differentiated worksheets to support independent learning and interactive presentations to introduce concepts and key skills.
